Topological surface states in nodal superconductors.
Topological superconductors have become a subject of intense research due to their potential use for technical applications in device fabrication and quantum information. Besides fully gapped superconductors, unconventional superconductors with point or line nodes in their order parameter can also exhibit nontrivial topological characteristics. This article reviews recent progress in the theore...
متن کاملTopological insulator states in a honeycomb lattice of s-triazines.
Two-dimensional (2D) graphitic carbon nitride materials have been drawing increasing attentions in energy conversion, environment protection and spintronic devices. Here, based on first-principles calculations, we demonstrate that the already-synthesized honeycomb lattice of s-triazines with a chemical formula of C6N6 (g-C6N6) has topologically nontrivial electronic states characterized by px,y...
متن کاملCharacterization of Topological States on a Lattice with Chern Number
We study Chern numbers to characterize the ground state of strongly interacting systems on a lattice. This method allows us to perform a numerical characterization of bosonic fractional quantum Hall (FQH) states on a lattice where conventional overlap calculation with known continuum case such as Laughlin state, breaks down. We calculate the Chern number by manipulating the twist angles of boun...
متن کاملLattice of compactifications of a topological group
We show that the lattice of compactifications of a topological group $G$ is a complete lattice which is isomorphic to the lattice of all closed normal subgroups of the Bohr compactification $bG$ of $G$. The correspondence defines a contravariant functor from the category of topological groups to the category of complete lattices. Some properties of the compactification lattice of a topological ...
متن کاملLattice-invariant Topological Properties
The purpose of this paper is to show that an isomorphism between the lattices of all closed sets of two topological spaces induces an isomorphism on the lattices of their zero-sets. This is achieved by showing that any continuous real-valued function on a space X can be transferred to any space latticeequivalent to X. Several topological properties are shown to be lattice-invariant.
